TLA: In what ways do we uphold & combat systems of racial inequality & "token"ization? In-Person

The Teaching-Learning Academy (TLA) is a central forum that engages students, faculty, staff, and community members in the study of teaching and learning. We meet every other week to explore a particular dialogue question or theme. Participation is open to anyone interested and you do not have to commit to every session in order to attend.

This week's question is: In what ways do we as an institution, a community, and as individuals both uphold and combat systems of racial inequality and "token"ization?

*This question is affiliated with the 2018 Western Reads, Octavia’s Brood: Science Fiction Stories from Social Justice Movements chapter “The Token Superhero.”

The TLA sessions are held in Haggard Hall 222 from noon - 12:50 pm.

(Students can receive library practicum credit for participation in the TLA Dialogue Sessions. For more information, contact Shevell.Thibou@wwu.edu)
