TLA Collaborative Event: What does it mean to support refugees? In-Person

Join students, faculty, staff, and community members as together we explore the question, "What does it mean to support refugees?"

This special Teaching-Learning Academy (TLA) collaborative event is co-sponsored by the Western Gallery and features a panel of authors and members of the WWU community. New York Times Bestselling Young Adult author Alan Gratz will join the panel exploring this question from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Western Gallery in the Fine Arts building at WWU. Following the fishbowl dialogue, participants will join in small group dialogues themselves. This event is free and open to the public.

The Teaching-Learning Academy (TLA) Dialogues are events where students, faculty, staff, and community members come together to explore a question relevant to the current teaching and learning environment. Open to everyone, participation in these dialogues is a great way to get involved, meet new people, and make connections outside of the typical classroom setting. These events are also a great way to explore difficult topics, practice and refine productive communication strategies, and develop skills in interpersonal communication and collaboration.
